ISLAMABAD: Bill Gates while praising the Government’s commitment to eradicate polio has announced that his Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation would increase financial aid for Pakistan.
In a correspondence addressed to Minister NHS, he also acknowledged the receipt of certain concept notes regarding innovations in the health sector, especially with regards to “strengthening mother and child care and reproductive health”, which he said were being analyzed by a team of experts.
The letter also suggests that Director General NHS be nominated as the contact point between the ministry and the Foundation.
According to sources in the Ministry Gates has nominated his technical team and that would hopefully meet the representatives of the Ministry soon to finalize support in different sectors.
Newspaksitan.tv has also learnt that so far Pakistan has received Rs. 72b from the Foundation and the amound of aid is expected to be augmented shortly.
