Bio Metric System to be installed in merged Districts of erstwhile FATA

ISLAMABAD: Health Directorate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of merged districts erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) has started work on installation of bio metric system at major hospitals to ensure attendance of the staff on duties.

Acting Director Health of merged FATA districts told media on Friday that the bio metric system is excellent because it provides us with information about the duty of all doctors, paramedics, nurses and Class IV staff.

After more such devices are installed, we will be able to ensure attendance of all employees on duty,” he said.

He said that the device will record time of arrival and departure of the employees. A strategy has been developed to implement the programme to the benefit of patients.

He said that he recently visited all the merged districts and also transferred two officers for poor performance.

He said that the Health Directorate is making efforts to bring transparency and improve health facilities in the merged districts.

Acting Director Health said the data of the staff attendance would be fed into the systems of the respective hospitals on the basis of which disciplinary action would be taken against the absentees.
