Jibran Nasir complains against Amir Liaquat

KARACHI: PEMRA, responding to the complaint lodged by Jibran Nasir Advocate, has banned BOL NEWS’s Amir Liaquat’s program Aisay Nahi Chalay Ga.

Amir Liaquat has been accused by Jibran Nasir Advocate of terming him and other social media activists (campaigning against the missing bloggers) as ‘anti-Islam’, ‘atheist’ and ‘anti-Pakistan’ in his BOL NEWS program Aisay Nahi Chalay Ga.

In his complaint filed with PEMRA the lawyer has said that Amir Liaquat was running a life-threatening campaign against him.

It is pertinent to mention here that hundreds of viewers have approached PEMRA asking the Authority to impose a ban on the host of Aisay Nahi Chalay Ga and the program itself.

In its 26 Jan., 2017 notification PEMRA has prohibited Amir Liaquat from delivering, on all other channels, any hate speech, declaring anyone as kaafir or ghaddar.
PEMRA has banned Amir Liaquat from hosting any program or appearing in any manner (guest, analyst, reporter, actor, in audio/video beepers, promos, advts of his program).

Furthermore, PEMRA, pointing towards bloggers running a campaign against the missing men, insinuated: “This act of theirs is further increasing difficulties for the affected families”.
