Bomb blast claims life of Khuzdar Press Club President

KHUZDAR: Maulana Siddiq Mengal, President of Khuzdar Press Club, who happened to be the Provincial Deputy Emir of JUI-F, died when a magnet bomb attached to his car was detonated by the unknown terrorists here on Friday (3rd May, 2024).

According to details Maulana Siddiq Mengal was on his way to mosque to offer Namaz-e-Juma, when a motorcyclist travelling alongside attached an improvised magnet bomb to his car and moved away.

Nine people, including a policeman, who got injured in the blast, are presently being provided medical aid at Khuzdar Teaching Hospital.

It is pertinent to mention here that Khuzdar had been called ‘a graveyard for journalists’ by Amnesty International (in 2014) and was ranked as one of the top ten most dangerous cities for journalists by Reporters Sans Frontieres.
