KARACHI: Sources have informed that the bomb (weighing one kg) attached to the red Vigo of Yu, Chinese owner of an eatery in Clifton area, malfunctioned.

According to details, Yu was about to park the vehicle in front of his restaurant, at the time he regularly visited the eatery, when two culprits riding a motorcycle attached the device to it.

However, the bomb , that was supposed to be operated by means of a remote control device, malfunctioned. Later, the BDS personnel disarmed it.

It is not clear yet whether the act was meant to settle some older scores, threaten to extort money or send a message to derail CPEC.
