Bourse remains in the green as investors cautiously build positions

KARACHI: The bourse remained in the green when on the second day of the trading week today as investors built calculative positions with restraint.

Consequently KSE-100 index gained 0.85 percent and closed at 45,918 today. Exceeding boldness of the bull reflected from the Rs. 7.1 billion worth of 79 million shares that were traded.

Comparing today’s overall volume of 224 shares with that of yesterday’s 106m it transpired that the investors are gaining confidence day by day.

Overall 372 entities’ shares changed hands today, of which a dozen remained stagnant, 101 declined and the remaining appreciated.

Engineering, chemical and telecommunication sectors spearheaded today’s trading with 34.7m, 29.8m and 20.8m shares respectively.  

The top five companies that led the bourse’ trade today: TRG Pak Ltd., 16.5m shares (+1.35.pc); Azgard Nine, 13.9m shares (+4.47pc); Engro Polymer,  13.9m shares (+3.68pc); Aisha Steel Mill: 13.5m shares (+4.77pc); Dost Steels Ltd., 11.8m shares (+4.07pc).
