Boxing: Muhammad Waseem Beats Mexico’s Ganigan Lopez

DUBAI: Pakistani flyweight boxer has outpointed two-time World champion Mexico’s Ganigan Lopez over eight rounds at Ceasars Palace Dubai here today. 

This was 32-year-old Waseem’s 10th professional bout and the score was  80-73 and 77-75. The only defeat was a unanimous decision loss to South Africa’s Moruti Mthalane in a world title bout.

At the same arena he had earlier returned to the win column following a 1st round knockout this past September, 2019. Nicknamed as Falcon, the 32-year-boxer is still in search of his first major belt in the pro ranks. Friday’s win is Waseem’s second straight as he improves to 10-1 (8KOs).

PANAMA: Undefeated (in all his 8 professional matches so far) Pakistani boxer Falcon Khan Muhammad Waseem has successfully defended WBC silver flyweight title as well as the top ranking by knocking Panama’s Carlos Melo out in the first round here today.
Waseem, who has knocked out six of his opponents in eight fights, is  all set to fight for the world title next January.
