KARACHI: During Ramadan well-to-do Muslims here, donate generously in order to facilitate their less-privileged brethren break (the dawn-to-dusk) fast called Iftar.

At innumerable spots, (including roads, footpaths intersections and mosques) volunteers arrange buffet   comprising fruits (mostly dates, bananas and cut pieces of melons), samosa (deep-fried potato-filled pastry) and pakora {(small pieces of vegetables – mostly potato, onions, spinach, capsicum – covered in batter of maida (finely milled refined/bleached wheat flour)}. At  some mosques dinner is also served.
