LONDON: British Shadow Justice Minister Barrister Imran Hussain MP, while speaking here today apropos the 100th anniversary of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, held:
“Today marks the 100th anniversary of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre where hundreds of innocent Sikhs, Hindus, and Muslims were shot and killed by soldiers in a deeply heinous act that despite the death toll, lasted just a matter of minutes.
“As we remember the victims of this horrific crime, we must also remember that there has been no apology and that the Commission who investigated this massacre only concluded that ‘grave errors’ had been made, and it is time that the UK Government issued a formal apology for the actions and orders of Brigadier-General Dyer who called for troops to open fire that day.”
