Buzdar’s resignation accepted

LAHORE: Usman Buzdar’s resignation (that he had presented to the PM on 28th day of March, 2022), has been accepted by the Governor of Punjab Ch. Muhammad Sarwar on Friday (1st of April, 2022).

Governor has also summoned the 40th session of the provincial assembly on Saturday in order to carry out the election of new CM Punjab under Article 130 of the Constitution.

According to the gazette notification by the PA secretariat  it will be the 40th session of the 17th Assembly. The session will be chaired by the Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari.

“In exercise of the powers conferred under Article 109 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, I, Mohammad Sarwar, the governor of Punjab, hereby summon the 40th session of the provincial assembly of Punjab to meet on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11am,” the Governor ordered.

It may be recalled that Usman Buzdar had tendered his resignation after Opposition submitted a No-Trust-Resolution against him.
