Central Board gives Padmavati a UA certificate suggesting changing the title!

NEW DEHLI: Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), while giving a green signal to the controversial (Rs. 150 crore) *Padmavati has suggested a little change: remove ‘i’ to make it Padmavat.

The decision to give UA certificate has come following an examining committee meeting (chaired by Chairman Prasoon Joshi) by the Censor Board on 28th of December.

Modifications in disclaimers have also been suggested by the board. It has been suggested that Sati should not be glorified and song Ghoomar be modified. CBFC will issue the certificate as per procedure once the required modifications are carried out.

A number of Rajput groups protested saying that the movie had distorted the history. Due to protests in many states the release (scheduled for 1st of December, 2017) was deferred as it did not have clearance from CBFC.

* Change in name is suggested in order to indicate that the movie is based on the 1540 poem titled Padmavat.
