Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina visits Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sefik Dzaferovic arrived here today (4th of Nov. 2020). 

In a joint Presser Prime Minister Imran Khan pointed out that the trade between Pakistan and  Bosnia and Herzegovina currently stood at 4.5m Euros. Imran Khan informed that both the sides had decided to hold further deliberations to improve trade and cooperation.

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his gratitude to the Bosnian President for his principled stance on Kashmir dispute. Commenting on the political scenario of the Region Imran Khan maintained that it had been taken over by a fascist regime that was not only persecuting innocent people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir but also targeting its minorities particularly the Muslims.

Focusing on the prevailing menace of Islamophobia, Imran Khan held that freedom of speech shouldn’t be used as a tool to hurt the sentiments of any religious community. Prime Minister pointed out that desecration of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Sallaallaho Alaihe Wa Sallam Khatim-un Nabiyeen) caused the greatest pain to the Muslims and the Western countries must realize that.

Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sefik Dzaferovic noted that both the countries had stood by each other in difficult times. He pointed out that human rights of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir must be respected. Sefik Dzaferovic also stressed for the resolution of the dispute in line with the UN Security Council Resolutions.

Condemning Islamophobia Sefik Dzaferovic said feelings of the Muslims should not be hurt.  He called for a dialogue to build bridges and evolve unity around diversity. According to the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina there are great opportunities of cooperation between the two countries in diverse areas including military, agriculture, diplomacy.

Sefik Dzaferovic, while lauding the way Pakistan had tackled Covid-19, thanked support extended to Bosnia in the fight against the pandemic. A couple of MoUs had been inked before the Media Talk:  One related to Scientific and Technological Cooperation and the other about readmission of their own citizens and the accompanying protocol. Sefik Dzaferovic also invited Imran Khan to visit his country.
