MOSCOW: Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has stated that China had the sovereign right to hold military drill around Taiwan. 

It may be recalled that despite threats from China US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan which China reckons as its sovereign territory.

Dmitry Peskov said that the tension in the region and around Taiwan was provoked by the visit of Pelosi: “It was an absolutely unnecessary visit and an unnecessary provocation.”

On Thursday (4th of August, 2022) China fired multiple missiles around Taiwan launching military drill=s around Taiwan.
