Chinese legal chief meets Afghan national security advisor




BEIJING: China’s top official in charge of political and legal affairs, Meng Jianzhu met with Mohammad Hanif Atmar, national security advisor to the Afghan president in Beijing on Wednesday.

According to a spokesperson for Chinese Information Department, both discussed the security situation in Afghanistan and cooperation in fighting terrorism, drug control and cracking down on organized crime so as to jointly safeguard the security and stability of the two countries and the region.

Atmar said Afghanistan attaches great importance to developing ties with China.

“Afghanistan is willing to cooperate more in law enforcement to help strengthen overall ties,” he said.
