Chinese troops enter Indian-Occupied Ladakh

LADAKH: Chinese troops entered into Indian Occupied Ladakh at Galwan Valley and after forcing the Bharti Army back went on to set up their presence in the area.

Noticing Indian Army constructing a bridge and a road in an area of Ladakh, Chinese planes, helicopters and heavy artillery commenced converging at the disputed territory.

According to reports Chinese Army not only dug trenches inside four to five kilometres of Line of Actual Control (LoAC), but also arrested a number of Indian soldiers who were later released when their superiors tendered unconditional apologies.

It is pertinent to mention here that Indian and Chinese troops continuously clash with each other. For instance,  Chinese and Indian troops fought last year in the month of September on the northern bank of the 134-km-long Pangong Lake in the disputed region of eastern Ladakh between the two countries.

While Indian soldiers were on a patrol they were confronted by People’s Liberation Army soldiers, who strongly objected to their presence in the area. This led to a scuffle between the rival soldiers.

Indian Army maintained that the incident occurred due to deferring perceptions about the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China. According to sources delegation-level talks led by brigadier-rank officers had been sought and agreed by China and India as per the established bilateral mechanism to defuse tensions.

China had been urging India to exercise prudence on the boundary question between the two sides and avoid taking any move that may further complicate the boundary question.

According to reports, the Indian government had earlier announced Ladakh as Union Territory, where there is the western sector of the China-India boundary: “China is always opposed to India’s inclusion of the Chinese territory in the western sector of the China-India boundary into its administrative jurisdiction. This firm and consistent position remains unchanged.”
