CJP: Why 172 names placed on ECL?

ISLAMABAD: CJP, expressing anger at the placement of 172 suspects of fake bank accounts case, asked: “Why were the names placed on the ECL? A JIT report is just a report, we have yet to review it.”

Chief Justice remarked when two-member SC bench resumed hearing the Rs. 42 billion money laundering case here today. 

Noticing the name of CM Sindh on ECL the CJP stated: “We will not allow the toppling of the Sindh government on the basis of the JIT report.” It is pertinent to mention here that Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Faryal Talpur, Malik Riaz are among those whose names have been placed in ECL.
