LAHORE: Addressing the ladies and gentlemen in the audience at an event held here on Wednesday (30th October, 2024) CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz maintained that Smog was a humanitarian, not a political issue and advocated Cross-Border Smog Diplomacy with India.
Maintaining that Smog was a crisis that required joint action, she stressed on the significance of cross-border cooperation with Indian Punjab in order to contain the augmenting menace: “Until both Punjabs come together, we won’t be able to tackle the issue of smog,” she held.
“We need to have diplomacy with India regarding the issue of smog in Lahore. I’m thinking of writing a letter to the Punjab Chief Minister in India that this is not just a political issue, this is a humanitarian issue. And if we’re also taking steps towards this, then there should be a matching response from the Indian side.”
CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz, while addressing the ladies and gentlemen in the audience converged here on Wednesday (30th October, 2024), at an event related to Diwali, distributed gift cheques worth 15,000 rupees each to 1,400 Hindu families.
