WASHINGTON: 301 cases of infection and 17 deaths have so far been reported in US from Coronavirus.
The new fatalities, announced late Friday (6th of March, 2020) are the first recorded outside the West Coast. WHile globally over 100,000 cases have been reported, in US, there are more than 300, and at least half of all states have confirmed cases.
Hawaii, Minnesota, South Carolina and Kentucky were among those reporting their first cases on 6th of March. Twenty-one people on a cruise ship off the coast of California have tested positive for the virus.
President Trump signed legislation that provides $8.3 billion of emergency funding to tackle the coronavirus outbreak, enacting into law a measure passed swiftly and with broad bipartisan support.
