Coronavirus: Engro shuts down Karachi offices

KARACHI: Engro Corp. has closed all its offices here in the Harbor Front for three days following confirmation that one of its employees tested positive for the Coronavirus.

Engro stated that the employee who was diagnosed with COVID19 had come to the office on 6th March for only a few hours.

Maintaining that the circumstances did not warrant office closure and call for self-monitoring the decision to close the offices for the next three days was as a precautionary measure: “One of Pakistan’s leading Infectious Diseases Specialists has indicated that exposure to the infected person of more than 15 minutes and at a distance of less than one meter may make one more susceptible to contracting the virus.”

It is pertinent to mention here that during the closure,  employees will continue to work from home while offices will be disinfected.
