LONDON: Most of the major sports events all over the world have been postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, including London Marathon that was scheduled to be held on 26th of  April.

According to details now the London Marathon will be held on 4th of October, 2020. It is pertinent to mention here that it is the first time London Marathon has been postponed since its launch in 1981.

Event director Hugh Brasher commenting on the development said: “The world is in an unprecedented situation, grappling with a global pandemic of Covid-19, and public health is everyone’s priority”. 

London Marathon organizers informed that every runner with a marathon place will be eligible for the new date.

The Manchester Marathon, scheduled for 5th April, has also been postponed. Brighton Marathon, due to take place on 19th April, has been rescheduled for 20th September.
