LAHORE: Former superintendent of Jamia Manzoor-ul-Islamia Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman, accused of sodomizing Sabir Shah, one of his pupils, and his three sons were produced before the Cantt Court here on Monday 21st of June.

The court, granting a four day physical remand of the accused, ordered the concerned authorities to carry out medical examination and a DNA test. Meanwhile, Police has claimed that Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman had confessed to sexually abusing Sabir Shah. He also admitted that his sons had threatened Sabir Shah and told him not to speak about the matter. Nevertheless, he posted the video online.

On Sunday (20th of June) IGP Punjab Inam Ghani took to the Twitter to inform that, former JUI-F leader and superintendent of Jamia Manzoor-ul-Islamia, Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman, accused of sexually assaulting one of his pupils Sabir Shah, had been nabbed by CIA personnel from Mianwali: “We have been able to arrest this criminal. We will take it as a test case, interrogate him, conduct scientific professional investigation, prosecute and get him convicted by the court. We want our kids protected from these child molesters and keep our society safe for our future.”

It may be recalled that a video clip featuring Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman was widely shared on social media, earlier this week, showing him sodomizing Sabir Shah, an adult student of the Jamia Manzoor-ul-Islamia. When the victim lodged a complaint, Mufti’s three sons attacked him. Following that a case was registered against the Mufti and his three sons (all presently in Police custody) at the North Cantt Police Station on the complaint of the victim Sabir Shah u/s 377 (unnatural offences) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of PPC. In the FIR Sabir Shah maintained that back in 2013 he was admitted to the Jamia Manzoor-ul-Islamia.

During the exams Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman accused two students (including Sabir Shah) of taking the test by means of proxies. Due to his alleged cheating Sabir Shah was banned from taking tests at the Wafaq-ul-Madaris for three years. According to the victim, Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman used the cheating issue to blackmail him and asked him to make him happy in order to be eligible to take the tests. Sabir Shah consented to be sodomized by the Mufti, who instead of doing the needful, kept on assaulting him every Friday for three years. When the victim Sabir Shah complained to the higher-ups of Jamia Manzoor-ul-Islamia, they accused him of maligning the Mufti. Hence in order to prove himself right Sabir Shah resorted to secret filming. | YouTube Channel
