COVID-19: From 5th Aug transit flights from Pakistan will land in UAE

KARACHI: According National Emergency & Crisis Management Authority, from 5th of August, flights harboring transit voyagers from Pakistan, India and Nigeria will be allowed to land in UAE.

The diplomatic mission of the Emirate here informed: “Travel for transit passengers from Pakistan will be resumed, provided that the traveler’s last destination is accepted with submission of laboratory examination within 72 hours from the time of departure, and the UAE’s airports will allocate special lounges for transit passengers. In addition to applying precautionary and preventive measures to receive arrivals, including quarantine and PCR tests upon and after arrival, in addition to follow-up and health monitoring of arrivals.”

It is pertinent to mention here that in order to contain the mysterious respiratory ailment caused by Coronavirus, for several months UAE had banned passengers from many countries including Pakistan. National Emergency & Crisis Management Authority also took to the Twitter to inform that as long as passengers from Pakistan and other countries, where flights had been earlier suspended, would be able to transit via UAE airports provided the passengers shows -ve PCR tests taken 72 hours before the departure. Transit travelers will have to provide the approval of the final destination.

It may be noted that such voyagers will have to use separate departure lounges. It is pertinent to mention here that National Emergency & Crisis Management Authority would allow those working in the medical, educational or government sectors in the Gulf Arab state as well as those studying or completing medical treatment in the UAE enter sans vaccination: “Students studying in the UAE and humanitarian cases who hold valid residency and workers in federal and local government entities and cases of completing treatment in the UAE, whether they are vaccinated or not.”

A couple of weeks ago, on 15th day of July, 2021, UAE had allowed Pakistani voyagers to travel sans getting their Vaccination Certificates  attested by the Foreign Office and the UAE Diplomatic Mission here.
