COVID-19: Info Minister appeals to follow SOPs

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Shibli Faraz, while addressing a Presser here, along with Parliamentary Secretary for Railways Farrukh Habib, appealed Pakistanis to follow SOPs in the face of rising cases of COVID-19.

Shibli Faraz said in case the SOPs were not followed government will have to impose stricter lockdown. Information Minister noted that as soon as the restrictions were eased people stopped following precautionary measures.

He pointed out that the restrictions were eased to provide livelihood opportunities to the weaker segments of the society. He reminded that disadvantaged segments of the society were being supported via Ehsaas Program and other initiatives.

According to Information Minister Shibli Faraz, government was pursuing a very well organized and coordinated strategy to stop the spread of coronavirus. He claimed that it was due to the modus operandi adopted by the government that the spread of virus was not as bad as it was expected.

Shibli Faraz went while focusing on the menace of locusts storms went on to claim that all the relevant government departments were working in close coordination to contain the issue of locusts. He said a well thought out strategy was being followed to make sure that the locust swarms were destroyed.

Speaking about the prevailing political scenario (obviously the attempt to arrest the Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif by NAB) Information Minister dispelled the impression of victimization of the political opponents.

Stressing  that accountability process would go ahead, Information Minister Shibli Faraz stated that action would be taken against the mafias that held the country’s economy hostage for their own vested interests.

Parliamentary Secretary for Railways Farrukh Habib, speaking on the occasion claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan had  exposed the Mafia. He went on to claim that the money looted by the so-called members of the Mafia would be taken back from them and used on the deprived segment of country.
