ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan participated at Ehsaas Telethon that commenced at 4PM today (Thursday 23rd of April, 2020) and was simultaneously aired by PTV and private TV Channels with an aim to generate money for the PM COVID-19 Fund.
Speaking on the occasion PM stressed upon the importance of national unity to emerge successfully from the virus crisis. He reminded that incumbent federal government had allocated Rs. 144 billion for those poor affected by the COVID-19 lockdown under Ehsaas Cash Emergency Program. According to him financial assistance of Rs. 12,000 each was being given to 5.437 million beneficiaries across the country in a transparent manner.
He pointed out that lockdown, particularly in developing country like Pakistan; negatively affected the world economy augmenting poverty across the globe, Hence he said instead of total lockdown government might go for smart lockdown so that the daily wagers and other poor people were not affected.
Imran Khan told that government prepared a comprehensive roadmap for Ramazan by taking all religious scholars and Ulema on board. Commenting on the congregational namaz he said that SOPs will have to observe to prevent spread of COVID-19 during the holy month. He warned that the next week could be critical as far as infection and death is concerned.
Imran Khan held: “I always tell this to my children and to others as well. Whenever you spend in the way of Allah, it brings you a lot of other rewards, such as the feeling of contentment. True wealth is what you feel inside.”
Anchors of a number of channels were also present at the Telethon during which a fund of Rs. 55 crore was raised. The event ended with a dua by Maulana Tariq Jamil.

ISLAMABAD: PM Imran Khan is expected to participate in a Telethon transmission organised by govt and pvt TV channels in order to collect donations for Corona Relief Fund.
The telethon, that commenced at 4PM today, is meant to appeal the Pakistanis living here and overseas to support the countrymen affected by lockdown. Telecom companies are facilitating consumers to send SMS on 6677 to contribute to PM Corona Relief Fund.
PM Imran Khan, urging the philanthropists to participate in the fundraising telethon, pointed out that an enormous amount of money was required to assist the huge number of people affected by the virus crisis.
Maulana Tariq Jamil will also be appearing in the Telethon for special prayers.
