COVID-19: Trump halts a Presser

WASHINGTON: Trump, who was addressing his (COVID-19-related) 1st Presser on Monday here at White  House since 27th of April, suddenly walked out irritated by an Asian-American journalist’s query viz-à-vis containing the virus-crisis.

According to details, Weijia Jiang, White House correspondent of CBS News, asked him during QA session why, instead of  focusing on COVID-19 deaths, he constantly emphasized that the US was doing better than any other country when it comes to testing: “Why does that matter? Why is this a global competition to you if every day Americans are still losing their lives and we are still seeing more cases every day?”4500Trump, responded before leaving the Rose Garden: “Well, they are losing their lives everywhere in the world. Maybe that is a question you should ask China. Don’t ask me. Ask China that question. When you ask China that question you may get a very unusual answer.” Jiang asked as to why he had advised her (an Asia-American) to ask China about the global death rate.

Immediately after that CNN’s Kaitlin Collins, whom the president had called on, approached one of the microphone stands but Trump shot her down several times. “But you called on me,” she said. When Kaitlin Collin kept trying to pose a question even as he called on another journalist, Trump ended the Presser.

President Trump failed to tell the citizens of USA when they will have the same access to COVID-19 tests as his own White House staff. Instead of responding to the query Trump opted to criticize the journalist: “See, we can’t win understand you very well. Better than you understand yourself!”

It is pertinent to mention here that many believe that since mostly old and colored people are victims of COVID-19 in USA it is not being treated seriously as a national emergency.
