Cricket, 4th ODI: Pakistan beats NZ by 102 runs

KARACHI: National Stadium here is the venue where Pakistani Cricket Team managed to beat the New Zealand Cricket Team by 102 runs in the IVth of the 5 match ODI series played on Friday (5th of May, 2023).

Earlier Black Caps, after winning the toss, invited Green Shirts to bat first.

Innings of New Zealand: 232 all out in 43.4 overs (T. Latham 60, M. Chapman 46; Usama Mir 4-43, Mohammad Wasim 3-40).

“The manner in which the Green Shirts have defeated New Zealand to book a top slot in the ICC rankings is simply outstanding.

“Making the nation proud is skipper Babar Azam who earned the feat of completing fastest 5000 runs in ODIs and leading Pakistan cricket to this glory.

“My heartiest congratulations to Pakistan Cricket Team, PCB, Babar Azam and the nation.”

During the 4th ODI against Black Caps, Babar Azam emerged as the fastest batter to score 5,000 ODI runs.

It is pertinent to mention here that Babar Azam had attained this distinction in 97th innings improving on Hashim Amla who made 5000 runs in 101 innings.
