Cricket: Green Shirts win 1st test against S. Africans

KARACHI: Green Shirts succeeded in defeating the South African cricket team in the first Test match by seven wickets here today (29th of Jan) taking a lead of 1-0 in the two-match Test series.

On a pitch that favored spinners, Pakistan’s Nauman Ali sent five South Africans back to pavilion while Yasir Shah took 4 wickets. Visiting team managed to score 245 all out in their 2nd innings on the 4th day.

Due to security concerns and last year’s COVID-19 Pandemic, few cricket teams visited Pakistan. South African Cricket team too avoided this country for fourteen years.
