DG ISPR lauds World XI squad’s decision to visit Pakistan, says nation eagerly prepared to host series

RAWALPINDI: Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor has lauded the international players’ decision to visit Pakistan for a T20 series.

In his tweet, Major Gen Ghafoor welcomed the upcoming Twenty20 series against a World XI team.

“We welcome Cricket Team World XI to Pakistan. Pakistanis are eagerly prepared to host them as a peace and sports loving nation,” he said on his official Twitter account.

His statement came shortly after PCB Chairman Najam Sethi announced that a 14-player squad from seven cricketing nations would be participating in a three-match Twenty20 series against Pakistan being played in Lahore next month.

Players from South Africa, Australia, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, England and New Zealand will reach Pakistan next month.

Former England coach Andy Flower has been assigned the coaching job whereas South African Test captain Faf du Plessis will lead the World XI against Pakistan.
