DG Rangers sets up committee to probe PIA protest shooting

KARACHI: DG Rangers Sindh Major Gen Bilal Akbar on Wednesday announced the establishment of a high-level investigation team to probe the shooting incident, which left two workers of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) killed.

Akbar, in an interview confirmed the formation of the committee, which would be headed by a brigadier-rank officer.

He told that the committee would examine every aspect of the incident.

Joint Action Committee (JIT) representing PIA workers accused the paramilitary force of opening fire at the demonstrators, a charge Rangers spokesman denied as baseless.
