KARACHI: DSP (Airport Section) Traffic Faiz Ali Shigri died, while driver got injured when four unknown assailants riding two motorcycles pumped thirteen bullets on the official vehicle (SP 170A) they were travelling in.
The attack was carried out here at Rashid Minhas Road (Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 16, Overseas Society, near an eatery called Baluchistan Sajji House) Sunday evening.
NewsPakistan.TV scribe, who has been to the mortuary to see the body of slain DSP Faiz Ali Shigri, has reported that the fallen policeman has been hit from two sides as bullets pierced from both side of his face.
Fifteen minutes earlier DSP Gulberg Zafar Hussain’s vehicle was also targeted (near Samama Shopping Center) in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of the Metropolis. On retaliation by his gunman assailants fled the scene of crime. No fatality was reported in this attack.
City Police Chief Mushtaq Mehr arrived at the scene of crime . Meanwhile Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah called IGP A.D. Khawaja on phone and asked him to submit report about the incident of target killing.
Forensic experts privy to NewsPakistan.TV told that 9mm pistols were used in the incidence. It has also been informed that the same weapons were used in killing a citizen in Sachal area.
IG said that a gang of target killers was attacking some specific police officers.
However CTD’s chief Raja Umar Khattab opined that the killing was sectarian.
It is pertinent to mention here that the same gang of target killers seem to have killed a member of Mediated community the same evening.

Ahmadi businessman killed in Karachi’s Gulzar-e-Hijri area

KARACHI: In third such sectarian target killing in Gulzar-e-Hijri area of the Metropolis in last few months an Ahmadi auto-parts dealer was fatally shot Sunday evening.
According to details 55-year-old member of Ahmadi community Shaikh Sajid Mahmood was targeted by four target killers riding two motorcycles when he emerged from his Gulzar-e-Hijri home near Super Highway.
Dr. Seemi Jamali, Executive Director JPMC, informed that the man who had sustained a number of bullet wounds was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
