Economic revival topmost priority of government: President

KARACHI: President Dr Arif Alvi Tuesday said revival of country’s economy was the topmost priority of the present government.

He was talking to a delegation of businessmen, called on him in Karachi, a press release issued by media office of the presidency said.

He said the government was striving hard in that regard and results would be yielded soon.

He underscored that the government was taking feasible steps to ensure business and investment friendly environment as it was cornerstone for the economic progress and prosperity of the country.

He stressed the industrialists and businessmen to focus on export-oriented products as increase in exports was pivotal for the economic stability.

He said the country had been facing numerous challenges for past few years which had also affected the business community across the country.

He appreciated the services of business community towards the development of the country and hoped that they would continue playing their proactive role with the same zeal and zest in order to further uplift the economy of the country.

The delegation apprised the president regarding the functioning of district chambers and offered few recommendations for improving economic structure and business environment in the country.
