Economy to grow at a faster pace under CPEC: Mamnoon




MULTAN: President Mamnoon Hussain said on Friday the government has made prudent economic policies and that’s why foreign investors are showing the keen interest in making investments in Pakistan.

He said this during a meeting with delegations of parliamentarians of the southern Punjab, farmers and Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Multan.

“All mega projects of national importance, particularly China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will be completed at all costs and no hurdle will be tolerated in the way,” said the President adding that Pakistan will emerge as the most important country in the region following completion of CPEC.

“CPEC would give a much-needed boost to trade activities,” he said.

The President said the country is moving in the right direction and national economic indicators are showing a gradual and steady improvement in the national economy.

He reaffirmed that the economy will grow at a faster pace in future.

Referring to the terrorism and ongoing operation in the country, the President said terrorism is a scourge and Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

President said Pakistan will continue efforts to eliminate terrorists from the country and all the misguided elements who are tarnishing the image of Islam.

The delegation apprised government’s efforts in improving the economy of the country and solving issues relating to Pakistan Stock Exchange.
