ECP clarifies why IK’s nomination rejected

ISLAMABAD: ECP while clarifying the reason behind rejection of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s nomination for the Faisalabad (NA-108) by-polls, stated that the candidate had not provided sufficient details about his assets. 

Stating that his nomination papers were not rejected due to signature verification issue, ECP clarified that Imran Khan’s nomination papers were rejected due to insufficient details of assets.

It is pertinent to mention here that though PTI parliamentarians had tendered their resignation en masse, the Speaker of NA opted to accept few at a time. On 28th of July, 2022 accepted resignations of 11 lawmakers (nine on general seats and two on women’s reserved seats).
