Nation celebrates Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) with religious zeal

KARACHI: Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) was celebrated across the country today with religious zeal and fervor.

The day dawned with thirty-one guns salute at the Federal capital and twenty-one guns salute at all provincial capitals. Roads and streets had been decorated with buntings and lights to mark the day in a befitting manner.

Prayers were offered in mosques for the peace, progress, and prosperity of the country. Religious scholars shed light on the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Special conferences, events and Mahaafil-e-Milaad were arranged to pay respect to the last messenger whose life and teachings are beacon of light for mankind.

On the occasion President Dr. Arif Alvi stated that the government was striving to develop Pakistan as a welfare state based on the principles of the State of Madina. According to Alvi the government was making economic and social reforms in various sectors which could bring about positive outcomes very soon. He urged the citizens particularly the religious scholars to play their role to make Pakistan a welfare state.

Prime Minister Imran Khan  pointed out in his message that the thought of welfare state was, first ever, introduced by Islam in the human history. He said the Holy Prophet and Khulafa-e-Rashideen practically materialized this thought in the first Hijri Century. PM held that the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) marked the end of a history of inhumanity, oppression, tyranny, ignorance, injustice and deviation from the right path and purified civilization by inculcating characteristics like human dignity and forgiveness.

Seerat COnferenceISLAMABAD: Today (10th of November, 2019) an International Conference was held here under the auspices of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony. The theme of this year’s conference was State of Madina and concept of modern Islamic Welfare State – in the light of teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The opening session of the conference was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan. Religious personalities, Ulemas, Mashaikh and scholars from all over Pakistan and various Islamic countries converged here for the conference.

Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noor-ul-Haq Qadri speaking on the occasion held that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) brought justice, knowledge and enlightenment in the society that was trapped in darkness, ignorance and injustice.

Noor-ul-Haq Qadri held: “Allah took oath from all prophets regarding belief on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who will be final in the chain of Prophet-hood. All the prophets mentioned the promised prophet (PBUH) in their times. Allah will grant high level to those who mention the name of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with reverence.”

According to Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noor-ul-Haq Qadri Prime Minister Imran Khan has a vision to transform Pakistan into a social welfare state on the pattern of state of Madina. He maintained the way Prime Minister raised voice at the United Nations and other world forums for respect and dignity of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is unprecedented.  the research papers and articles presented in today’s conference will become the foundation of the setting up of a modern Islamic welfare state of Pakistan.

Processions were taken out in all major cities and towns, including Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Sargodha, and Bahawalpur. In Karachi, the main procession of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) was taken out from Memon Mosque (Bolton Market). After passing through the traditional routes, it culminated at Nishtar Park where the main Mehfil-e-Milad was held. In Lahore, Mahaafil-e-Milad were held in different parts of the city while processions were also taken out. A procession was taken out from Saryab Road in Quetta which after marching through its conventional routes culminated at Jamiat Roy Road.
