KARACHI: An enormous number of people converged at Eidgahs and Mosques to offer special Eid-ul-Azha prayers here amid tight security.

Many opted to visit graveyards to lay flower wreaths on the graves of their dear ones. Later roads of the Metropolis were colored red by the blood of sacrificial animals.

KARACHI: President Mamnoon Hussain offered Eid prayer here at the State Guest House mosque. Suited guards can be seen on his right, left and behind.

In Islamabad, the biggest congregation was held at Faisal Mosque. As usual most of the inhabitants (who work there) had left for their villages. RCB swiftly lifted 700 tons of the waste left behind on the Rawalpindi roads.

Foolproof security was provided to 2,700 Eid congregations held in Lahore with the biggest at Badshahi Mosque. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Ahmad Khan Buzdar offered Eid-ul-Azha prayer at Jilani Park.

In Faisalabad too millions offered Eid prayers at 1000 mosques and grounds that were guarded by 4000 security personnel. Moreover, interestingly, district administration of Faisalabad has constituted eight teams to implement a ban imposed on the burning of Siri Paiy of sacrificed animals at public places!

The main Namaz-e-Eid congregation in Bahawalpur was held at Markazi Eidgah. While district police ensured security, BWMC made arrangements to remove offal from the doorsteps. Tehsil Municipal Administration and Cantonment Board Sargodha were also seen working hard to maintain cleanliness.

In Hyderabad people offered Namaz-e-Eid at 850 mosques and 50 grounds. Some 2,500 policemen and 200 commandos in addition to the Rangers were deployed across the city for security. The HMC employed more than 80 vehicles and 300 staff to lift offal of sacrificial animals and ensure uninterrupted water supply with the adequate drainage system.

Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan and Chairman Senate Mir Sadiq Sanjrani offered the prayer of Eid-ul-Azha at Governor House. Eid congregations were held at 200 different places that were guarded by 5000 security personnel.
