Elaborate security arrangements made for Pakistan Day; 1500 cops to be deployed

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi District Police have made elaborate security arrangements for Pakistan Day and over 1500 cops will be deployed to ensure security on March 23.

According to police spokesman, on the directive of City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Abbas Ahsan tight security arrangements were made while besides district police deployment, special branch and Elite Force personnel would also perform security duties on Pakistan Day.

He informed, the cops were performing 24 hours duty in three shifts to make the security arrangements perfect.

Police officials had been deployed at all entry and exit points of the city, he said adding, the city had been divided into six sectors which were being covered by setting up different police pickets and special rooftop duties.

Police officers of all the police stations had been directed to make police patrolling more effective while the SPs and SDPOs were supervising and monitoring the security and patrolling plan, he added.

The spokesman said, all out efforts would be made to avoid any untoward incident. Police reserves would also remain alert and on standby at the police line, he added.
