KARACHI: President PML-N Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has urged Karachiites to repose their confidence on a party that has a track record of bringing about development in other parts of the country including its largest province.
Addressing a public meeting at Lyari here today the PML-N chief, who is also contesting from a constituency of Karachi first time in his political career, focused his campaign on citizens’ civic facilities.
NA 249 of Lyari, the stronghold of Pakistan Peoples Party, inhabited by diverse linguistic and ethnic groups. The constituency is expected to witness a tough contest as people this time appear to be more inclined towards commitment and capacity of their representatives in terms of delivery.
PML-N is vying to sell their accomplishments in terms of infrastructure development at the areas they had been voted to power during previously held national polls. Shahbaz Sharif, who always claimed that his party was in a better position to resolve the issues of citizens of the port city, appealed the locals to vote for his party in large numbers so that their representatives could bring about the needed changes.
Later addressing similar meetings in Malir, Manzoor Colony and other areas of the Metropolis reiterated that water scarcity coupled with the absence of solid waste management system and inadequate public transport facilities need to be mitigated on war footings.
