LONDON: Experts are speculating that the continued lockdown in the United Kingdom due to coronavirus could possibly change the structure of Royal family and Queen Elizabeth II could hand over the throne to her son, Prince Charles.
According to some political experts, if the lockdown keeps extending and the activities remain paralyzed, Her Majesty will have to hand over the throne to her son.
A royal expert had also claimed in 2017 that the Queen was planning to step back from her duties on her 95th birthday and handing over her throne to the heir next in line.
“The Queen will keep calm and carry on, but there is nothing to stop her following her husband into a form of retirement. I understand she has hinted that she would consider a Prince Charles Regency at 95,” Robert Jobson had written in his column. “There is nothing to stop her doing this.”
It is pertinent to mention here that Queen Elizabeth II had pledged at age 21 that she would serve the country all her life. However, the experts say that she was now thinking to bring her replacement.
