Export of cement rises 8.1% in two months

ISLAMABAD: Export of Cement from the country increased by 8.01 percent during the first two months of the current fiscal year to US$ 48.535 million as compared to the export of $44.9 million in July-August (2017-18).
With respect to quantity, the exports of cement increased by 25.41 percent as it rose to 1.092 million metric tons in July-August (2108-19) from the export of 0.871 million MT cement during the same period of previous year.
According to the latest data issued by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the country produced 3.1 tons of cement in July 2018 as compared to the production of 3.067 tons cement in the same month of the preceding year.
On the month-on-month and year-on-year basis, the export of cement in August 2018 surged by 31.52 percent and 23.01 percent when compared with the exports during July 2018 and August 2017.
The export of cement increased from $20.98 million in July 2018 and $22.4 million in August 2017 to $27.57 million in August 2018.
