Ch Fawad Hussain given additional portfolio of Information Minister

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science & Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has been given additional portfolio of Information Minister. 

On 15th day of April, Prime Minister Imran Khan had formally handed over the portfolio  of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to Fawad Chaudhry, who later called on the PM. On 20th day of August, 2018, Fawad was appointed as Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting in the federal cabinet. However, in April 2019, he was removed from the ministry.

It is pertinent to mention here that Chaudhry replaces Shibli Faraz, who remained the information minister for a year.  He was recently re-elected to the Senate from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On 28th of April last year, Shibli Faraz was sworn in as the new information minister. Meanwhile, Ch Fawad was was made Minister of science and technology.

It is believed that PM was not happy with the performance of many Ministers and wanted to replace them by those who could transform the PTI-led government’s ideas into reality.
