Fazl says opp wants military to stick to professional duties

HYDERABAD: President of PDM and chief of JUI-F Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has said that the opposition parties wanted military establishment to stick to their professional responsibilities steering clear through the politics. 

Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman stated: “The establishment says that they have nothing to do with politics and they are impartial. We also want our army to not get involved in politics and do nothing other than dealing with defense related matters, but what to do? The mistakes have been committed and these mistakes have to be acknowledged and apology should be extended to”.

Addressing a public gathering here today he held: “We also want armed forces to stay away from politics and only perform their defense related duties.” It is pertinent to mention here that it was  Maulana’s rejoinder to military porte parole  Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar’s statement that army was not involved in politics. ISPR had also rejected reports about clandestine contacts with the opposition parties.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari alleged that the federal government was not interested in Sindh nor its populace but wanted to usurp its resources and islands. He maintained that the incompetent and illegitimate government was responsible for the unprecedented hike in the food prices and bad governance: “Imran Khan promised to build a Naya Pakistan but he turned it into a more expensive Pakistan.”

Former PM and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said PDM parties would thwart all attempts aimed at introducing presidential form of government in the country: “We will not let anyone to take back your rights provided in the 18th amendment and all parties are united over this matter.”People attend the PDM rally in Hyderabad on Tuesday. — DawnNewsTV
