Sedition: FIR registered against Shaukat Tarin

ISLAMABAD: FIA Cyber Crime Reporting Center on Monday (13th of Feb, 2023) registered FIR against former finance minister Shaukat Tarin on charges of sedition for attempting to sabotage talks with the IMF.

The FIR has been registered on the complaint of Arshad Mehmood u/s 20 of PECA on the basis of audio leaks featuring him and the former finance ministers of Punjab and KP.

Furthermore, the FIR also harbors PPC’s Sections 124-A and 505.

It is pertinent to mention here that, in order to affect the deal with IMF, Shaukat Tarin had asked the said former finance ministers to inform the Fed Govt that they would not reimburse the surplus budget.
