FIA’s relentless operation continues against RAW Network

KARACHI: Counter-Terrorism Wing of FIA, while operating against the RAW Network here, has nabbed Syed Musawir Hussain Naqvi, an ASI associated with Special Branch of Police.

Accused of being a key member of RAW network here, Musawir Hussain was posted at Karachi Airport’s Surveillance Unit. Inducted in Sindh Police in 1991, he was allegedly trained in India in 2008 and had been involved in target-killing and terrorism activities.

The accused allegedly facilitated the movements of his collaborators through Karachi Airport. Authorities claim he was associated with MQM-London. RAW AGENT 1

It is pertinent to mention here that earlier too FIA had arrested six people including (another) ASI of Sindh Police accused of having links with RAW. They are being interrogated by a JIT.

In 2017 the US State Department had urged Pakistan and India to engage in direct talks to resolve the issue of RAW agent Kulbhushan Jadhav. “We encourage them [Pakistan and India] to engage in direct dialogue aimed at reducing tension,” said State Department spokesman while answering a question regarding the Indian agent who has been awarded death sentence by the government of Pakistan on espionage charges.

In 2016 the Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakariya had claimed that eight members of the Indian Embassy in Pakistan, who were earlier identified having links with Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Indian Intelligence Bureau (IB), were suspected of involvement in terrorist and subversive activities in Pakistan.

“As you are aware, a number of Indian diplomats and staff belonging to Indian intelligence agencies RAW and IB have been found involved in coordinating terrorist and subversive activities in Pakistan under the garb of diplomatic assignments,” Zakariya told media, giving brief details about undercover Indian agents.

He also disclosed the names and designations of the suspected operatives. According to FO, there were six suspected RAW operatives and two IB operatives who were involved in terrorist activities in the country.
