Fire broke out at Karachi HO of internet service provider

KARACHI: Fire that broke out here last night at the HO of internet & television service provider StormFiber, powered by Cybernet, was contained sans loss to networking equipment or services.

StormFiber held that as a precautionary measure their power system including the primary  and secondary UPS were taken offline and the electric utility had temporarily disconnected power to the site, causing an outage in their  network in the Metropolis. StomFiber also told that their team had initiated their disaster recovery processes.

ProPakistani held that the fire broke out on an administrative floor but the cause of fire had not been determined. Internet access for StormFiber customers was restored today (Sunday morning 1st of December, 2019).

According to the organisation customers might experience a slowness in speed but that should be back to normal as their network operations team increased traffic loads. The company further told that their engineers were working to resume all TV and phone services ASAP.
