KARACHI: Fire, engulfing a Super Store adjacent to Awami Markaz at Shahra-e-Faisal here today morning, was controlled after more than eight-hour hectic efforts of the Fire Brigade fire tenders, with the support of Pakistan Navy.
According to the Fire Brigade officials, the fire started in the godown of the Super Store at around 8 A.M. due to short circuit, which later spread to the store. Seven fire tenders of the Fire Brigade Department rushed to the scene to put off the fire.
Pakistan Navy team along with two snorkels also reached there and participated in the firefighting. The firefighters faced a problem because of the shortage of water there. However, tankers of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board were called to supply water for fire tenders. At about 5 P.M., the fire was controlled completely, said Fire Brigade officers.
