Fishermen missing due to wind storm

THATTA: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, while taking notice of missing fishermen at Kati-bander, has ordered the Commissioner Hyderabad to submit a report pertaining to the incident.

According to sources a boat carrying sixteen fishermen capsized near Keti Bandar in Thatta on Saturday 22nd of January, 2022.

Fisher Folk Forum spokesman has informed that out of 16 fishermen, four have survived while a search is underway to trace the remaining.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed the Commissioner Hyderabad to make all out efforts in finding the missing fishermen.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah while directing the administrator and police for the assistance to search the missing fishermen, asked the commissioner who permitted them to go into the deeps despite prediction of gusty winds and rains.

He ordered the commissioner and Sindh Fisheries department to help recover the missing fishermen, boarded on the boats. CM said, if required, they could ask Pakistan Navy for help immediately.

Syed Murad Ali Shah stressed that the Sindh government would leave no stone unturned in search of the missing fishermen.
