FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Pak-US cooperation would benefit people of the region!

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi while addressing a seminar on ‘Pakistan-US Relations: Way Forward’ held that it was appropriate for the two countries to work for broader engagement from Afghanistan to bilateral economic cooperation & trade cooperation to peace & stability in South Asia.

According to him constructive and cooperative approach is the best option for Pakistan and the United States to realize common objectives of peace and security in the region and bring prosperity to the people of South Asia.

Commenting on PM’s upcoming visit to US, FM said that would help in ushering an era of stability and  prosperity in South Asia and the broader region.

Pointing out that  Pakistan was mindful to the US priorities vis-à-vis Afghanistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi reiterated that Pakistan had been facilitating the US-Taliban talks in good faith.

He was optimistic that convergence in Pak-US policies on Afghanistan would finally help is resolving the Afghan conflict.
