ISLAMABAD: Day-Long Pakistan-France business conference organized by Business France under the umbrella theme of Emerging Pakistan successfully concluded in Paris on Monday.
A 14-member delegation of Pakistan France Business Alliance (PFBA) from Karachi led by Jamil Hamdani, Chairman of PFBA attended the event.
The conference was jointly inaugurated by Ambassador of Pakistan to France Moin ul Haque and Ambassador of France to Pakistan Marc Barety, a message received here from France said.
Addressing the conference, the ambassador of Pakistan said that France was an important business partner in Europe.
He highlighted the importance of trade and investments in developing a balanced and sustainable bilateral relationship and said that the conference had provided the business communities of the two countries an excellent platform to further deepen existing business, trade and investment ties.
The ambassador of France to Pakistan in his address said that Pakistan and France over the years had developed beneficial partnerships in the economic sector.
He briefed the participants about the steps taken by the French government to expand trade and investment ties with Pakistan.
Earlier, Ms. Christelle Labernede Director South Asia of Business France in her welcoming address said the purpose of the workshop was to provide opportunity to the leading Pakistani companies representing diverse fields including pharmaceutical, animal health, nutrition, aerospace, energy and oil and gas sector to network with their French counterparts to establish business to business linkages and discuss business prospects and opportunities.
Jamil Hamdani Chairman/CEO of PFBA gave a presentation on “Opportunities for French Companies in Pakistan”. Representatives of some foreign companies working in Pakistan shared their positive experiences of doing business in Pakistan and encouraged the French companies to consider Pakistan as a preferred destination for business and benefit from its investment-friendly policies.
Business networking meetings were also held between the members of the Pakistani delegation with their French counterparts. Later in the evening, Ambassador of Pakistan to France Moin ul Haque hosted a reception in the honor of visiting delegation.
The reception was attended by representatives of French companies, members of the French civil society and high ranking French government officials. Business France is the French public-sector organization tasked to promote trade and investment to and from France by connecting with the emerging markets of the world.
