French Envoy decorates André De Bussy, Cultural Counsellor (Video and Text)

ISLAMABAD: H. E. Marc Baréty, Ambassador of France to Pakistan, has decorated the outgoing Cultural Counsellor André De Bussy here.

Medal of Honor has bestowed upon the Cultural Counsellor André De Bussy in recognition of his extra-ordinary achievement and great commitment during his tenure in Pakistan.

FAISALABAD: French Embassy Counselor for Cooperation & Cultural Affairs Andre de Bussy lauded Franco-Pak ties in academic field.

However, he stressed the need to further strengthening agricultural, academic, textile and cultural ties to get benefit from each other experiences that will help combat the common challenges. He called on the University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice-Chancellor  Dr Zafar Iqbal Randhawa at VC Chamber here.

Faculty of Food, Nutrition and Home Sciences Dean Dr Masood Sadiq Butt; and Dr Rizwan also attended the meeting. Andre de Bussy said that they would help UAF promote Cheese culture.  He said that French language courses being offered at UAF will help raise understandings among the peoples.

UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Zafar Iqbal Randhawa said that the university was having the faculty of 700 and out of which 480 faculty members are PhDs. He said majority of the university doctors had studied abroad. He said that they were setting up different clubs of foreign qualified faculty members of Europe, America and China so that they can interact with the experts of country where they studied, and contribute their effective role to address the challenges and problems.

Dr. Masood Sadiq Butt said that French Center set up at UAF produced 100 students in French language for the educational, research and business purposes. He said that University was having a number of faculty members who studied from France. He said they were planning an international conference in the weeks to come in which Australian experts will come.

KARACHI: French Embassy’s Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs Andre de Bussy has said that Alliance Française de Karachi (AFK) was the fabric of Metropolis.

He was speaking exclusively to Newspakistan.tv after opening an exhibition of fifty press cartoonists’ work from around the world titled ‘Drawing Freely’.

Talking about AFK he said that it was operating for the last six decades to propagate French culture, literature and language. He lauded the cooperation of  Pakistanis and told that the AFK Governing Committee consisted of local people and they felt that they were the fabric of the Metropolis.

Harboring on the theme of exhibition on freedom of expression embodied by fifty press cartoonists from all over the world, he said that it presented one of the features of the French culture.

He said that he was happy to be in Pakistan where his posting can last three to four years. The exhibition would be shown at Alliances around the world. (Exhibition will remain open till 14th of Feb 2017.)
