QUETTA: A large number of people including the provincial minister and officials offered funeral prayer of six martyred of Levies Force in Sanjavi area of Ziarat district today.
Provincial Minister for Public Health Engineer (PHE) Haji Noor Muhammad Dummer, Commandant Loralai Scouts Colonel Amir Mukhtiar, Commissioner Sibi division, Deputy Commissioner Ziarat, Levies officials, police officials, relatives of victims and other people attended the funeral prayers of martyred Levies forces in Sanjavi area.
The bodies of martyrdom were sent to their native for burial after offering funeral prayers. However, Levies Force’s personnel were on their duty at Levies Check Post Katai near Sanjavi when suspects attacked and opened fire at them, leaving six personnel martyred on the spot on late Tuesday night.
PM, CM Balochistan condemn Ormara incident
QUETTA: At least fourteen people were killed by unknown gunmen at Makran Coastal Highway near Ormara area of Balochistan on Thursday.
According to Levies sources, armed assailants intercepted about six Karachi, Gwadar-bound passenger buses and opened fire at 14 commuters after checking their National Identity Cards (NICs) and fled from the scene.
All except two victims died on the spot after receiving bullets injuries. Two victims managed to escape.
On information Levies force reached the site and shifted the bodies to nearby hospital.
Where nine of the victims were identified as Muhammad Yousaf, Muhammad Wasim, Farhan-Ullah, Ali Raza, Zulfiqar, Muhammad Haroon, Ali Asghar, Hamza, Muhammad Rizwan, Muhammad Wasim, and Zabin.
The area was cordoned off and launched search to trace out suspects.
Balochistan Governor Amanullah Khan Yasinzai along with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Jam Kamal Khan condemned the killing of innocent passengers at Makran Coastal Highway.
Chief Minister directed concerned department and law enforcement agencies to take strict action against those involved in killing of commuters to bring them to justice.
He said on the behest of some foreigner masters and some anti-elements were spoiling peace of Balochistan and asserted that any activity to disrupt development in the area and threat to the lives and property of the people would be dealt with iron hand.
Balochistan Governor and Chief Minister also expressed their deep sorrow over the death of innocent passengers.
Markan: Terrorists shot 14 passengers dead on Coastal Highway
MAKRAN: Terrorists offloaded passengers from a bus on Coastal Highway near Ormara here today and shot at least 14 of them.
According to sources privy to NPTV some 20 unidentified gunmen (wearing FC uniforms) stopped passenger buses plying from Karachi towards Gawadar. At 1am they offloaded sixteen passengers from a bus carrying over 36 passengers in Buzi Top area and killed forteen of them at close range after identifying the victims by means of their NICs.
Prime Minister Imran Khan condemning the act of terrorism sought report into the incident. He has ordered the concerned authorities to identify the culprits and book them under Anti-Terrorism Law.
Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal stated that such acts were on the agenda of anti-state elements as they wanted Balochistan to remain backward region sans any development: “Progress will continue no matter what”, he held.
“These cowardly terrorists showed the extent of their barbarism by murdering innocent passengers,” the CM maintained.
“The people of Balochistan look upon terrorists who follow the agenda of foreign elements with hate. Through the support of the people, terrorism will be eliminated and the terrorists will continue to be brought to justice,” Jam Kamal stated.
Information Minister Ch. Fawad Hussain took to the Twitter saying all the perpetrators involved in recent attacks in the country would be apprehended and brought to justice.
Leader of the Oppositionof PML-N’s Shehbaz Sharif and PPP-P Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari have also strongly condemned the killings. PPP-P Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held that PTI Govt. had failed in containing terrorism.
All out efforts to promote cricket in Balochistan
QUETTA: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani on Wednesday said the provision of opportunities to Balochistan’s players at both national and international level is on top of the priority list of PCB for promotion of cricket in the province.
Addressing a press conference here Wednesday he said that PCB is working to provide equal opportunities to all the provinces with special emphasis on areas left behind for one or another reason.
He said that for the uplift of sports activities in Balochistan, all resources would be utilized for the refurbishment of the Bugti Stadium.
Earlier today, PCB’s governing body held its first meeting in Quetta but five members detached from the agenda and submitted a separate resolution regarding the posting of MD PCB Waseem Khan and dissolution of departmental cricket.
Chairman PCB expressed displeasure over the resolution and said that recruitment of MD PCB was the decision of PCB governing body. He further said that some members carried their own agendas and boycotted this meeting.
Chairman PCB said the approval for the appointment of Managing Director PCB has already been taken in the last meeting of the governing body. We aim to have a resilient PCB structure in the future, he added.
